General Mattias: «Be prepared, just when you think you’ve find your way, life will throw you onto a new path.»
Anna: «What do you do when it does?»
Mattias: «Don’t give up. Take it one step at the time and …»
Anna: «… just do the next right thing?»

ENGLISH / ITALIANO sotto
If you want to read, I’ll tell you my and my sister’s story.
It looks a lot like that of Elsa and Anna.
We already felt it ours at the first Frozen, although we were far from knowing that it would belong to us more than we could wish for.
It’s not the classic Disney movie of a princess being rescued by a prince.
Here the princesses save themselves, trying to clear from roles to which society has relegated them. There is the search of their true self, brotherly love, family, friendship.
Stories full of meanings, very articulate and complex characters and the more I look at them, the more I write about them, the more I find affinity with what my sister and I are, even in character.
This is why I wanted to tell their story.
But by replacing the names and some words – “translated” between the hyphens – it’s as if you are reading our history and evolution.
I didn’t know whether to open up enough to include Mom too, but in the end I chose to do it, to explain how deeply I’m linked to this story.
But let’s start from the end, from the beginning of the end.
Frozen II.
The film was released while Simona was in France studying.
Yet the case – which doesn’t exist – wanted that when she returned, a month later, it was still in screening.
It was the first time we went to the cinema just the both of us.
In this second film, the two sisters are learning to build an everyday life that replaces absences, and redeems the years in which they grew apart – for Elsa’s fear of not being able to protect Anna from herself while still learning to know herself.
But .. you can love also by making different choices.
A voice calls Elsa, to push her to follow a path into the unknown, reopening the doubts and questions that she has kept for years.
She feels that “deep down I’m not where I’m meant to be, every day’s a little harder as I feel my power grow”, despite the fact that she finally has everything she loves.
It also happens to us when we reach a goal but we realize it’s not what makes us happy.
How much courage does it take to accept it?
Elsa is afraid of disappointing everyone and losing everything but however much she tries to stifle that call, however much she loves her sister … she decides to follow that voice – that instinct.
In search of the answers about her past and about herself.
Who is she really?
Why was she born with these powers – qualities?
She will have to face her pains and her insecurities, go through the loss of their parents, the fear of not being strong enough to survive and failing to protect those she loves.
She sets out on a journey of inner discovery, to find peace in herself and for her kingdom.
She will challenge the spirits of nature – the obstacles of life – with strength and determination, demonstrating her abilities.
Anna, however, doesn’t leave her alone.
She has matured a lot compared to the first film, she has become aware of one important thing: loving doesn’t mean understanding or sharing the choices and emotions of the other.
Because nobody can truly be understood in the depth of their own reasons and inner feeling.
To love means to decide to stay close, to support without asking for explanations, to help the other to be who she is destined to, reminding her in moments of despair that she’s a gift, that “believes in her more than in anyone else“.
But Anna too will encounter her greatest fear: being “alone in this darkness“.
“I’ve seen dark before, but not like this.
This is cold, this is empty, this is numb.
The life I knew is over, the lights are out.
Hello, darkness, I’m ready to succumb.”
In a cave with no exit, convinced that she has lost her sister, that she was abandoned by Kristoff and that Olaf has vanished forever, she fights the fear of having lost all points of reference, everything she loved.
But she feels she can’t succumb like this.
She decides to move forward without looking to the future but living one step at a time, doing only “the next right thing“.
“Just do the next right thing
Take a step, step again
It is all that I can to do.”
And that’s how she will save herself, Elsa and Arendelle.
ITALIANO
Frozen II.
Mattias: «Non ti arrendi. Fai un passo alla volta …»
Anna: «… e poi fai ciò che è giusto?»
FROZEN II – Part 2

ENGLISH
This journey leads Elsa to discover Ahtohallan – the deepest part of us – a river which “carries the past within itself ” in search of answers. But “will she be able to deal with them? “
“There’s a river full of memory
In her waters, deep and true
Lie the answers and a path for you
Dive down deep into her sound
But not too far or you’ll be drowned
[…] But can you brave what you most fear?
Can you face what the river knows?
There’s a mother full of memory
Come, my darling, homeward bound
When all is lost, then all is found”
“But not too far or you’ll be drowned.”
Because it takes courage to accept your fears and fight them.
And it takes strength to dive in and emerge from the truth.
Our truth.
That calls us continuously but we don’t listen, suffocating it with smiles, apologies, duties and stereotypes.
Elsa descends to the edge of her vulnerability, and discovers that all the answers she seeks are already within her.
That that voice is her mother, is her, is her story, is her past and her destiny, that all of this will always be a part of her, and that she’s much more than what society has relegated to – a right queen, a responsible older sister, a perfect daughter replacing the lost parents.
She is so much more.
She is the fifth spirit – a free spirit.
And only by choosing to be herself, embracing her every facet, difference, passion, can she realize what she was born for and feel at peace.
She had always believed that her differences were a danger to Anna, an obstacle to relationships, and a sorrow for their parents.
Now, however, she understands that they are a gift from the magical nature – from life – so that she can follow her path thus helping others as well.
Thanks to Elsa’s courage and Anna’s strength, they manage to save themselves, find each other, and make the right choice: divide, to unite everyone with love.
Because love is the only thing that never dies.
But I, instead, am still in Ahtohallan, looking for answers.
ITALIANO
chiunque vada troppo in là.
[…] Ma le risposte che avrai
le saprai affrontare o no?
L’acqua è una madre che
sa il passato,
può rispondere.
Perdi ciò che tu hai più amato
è allora che lo avrai trovato.”
“In quel fiume affogherà chiunque vada troppo in là”.
PART 3
ENGLISH
For those who haven’t seen the film, this is the scene that inspired me for the second image.
This is the moment when Elsa arrives at Ahtohallan, a “river full of memory” and all the answers we seek, a metaphor for the deepest place in ourselves.
And she finds her mother. Here she understands her true essence. These are the lyrics from the minute 3.26.
“You are the one you’ve been waiting for”
“There’s a river
Full of memory
Come, my darling, homeward bound
I am found
Show yourself
Step into your power
Throw yourself
Into something new
You are the one you’ve been waiting for
All of your life.”
If you haven’t seen the movies, I highly recommend you do it.
And if you have Disney+, also look at the docuseries on the making of Frozen II, because it not only shows (and allows you to appreciate) all the work that is behind any animation, but also all the psychology of the characters and the connections of the story.
Watch Frozen I, then Frozen II, then the docuseries, and again Frozen II to see all the details you missed.
You’ll love it.
Carnival and Halloween are the moments when I love to make cosplay and immerse myself in the atmosphere of the chosen character. Today we’ll watch the movies and listening to the soundtrack, how did you spend this Carnival?

ITALIANO
L’ho trovato!
Dove sei?
Il potere aumenta,
Ciò che sei non esiste più.
Sei la risposta per sciogliere
I dubbi tuoi.

I’ve only seen the first Frozen film, and one thing I don’t understand about it is why her parents thought the best course of action was to lock their daughter away. Sure, she has a magical power that could be dangerous, but that’s all the more reason to give her the love and support she needs to learn to control it. They were lucky that essentially abandoning there daughter like they did didn’t create a child burning with hatred for what happened
Well I guess they were guided by fear. The fear that she might unintentionally hurt other people while learning to control herself. Their intention was not to lock her up, but to keep her safe and keep the others safe as long as she was the mistress of power (and the king of the trolls had told them that too!).
Except that it took Elsa a lot longer than expected for her to learn, cause she was so scared of herself that she couldn’t “feel” and love.
Beautiful photos and cosplay. I also enjoyed seeing the ‘photoshop’ process in a video. Very inspiring to read your review of this movie and how you felt about different parts of it. I really enjoyed the original movie, but I have yet to see the sequel.
Thank you very much I’m sure you’ll love the second one too, expecially if you then watch the docuserie (there you can feel how deep and true and real all the story is)❤️ xx
Love this post! So beautiful!!
xx Sara
Thank you! xx
Wow amazing pictures!! 🙂
have a great time my friend,

Thanks! xx
I love Frozen because it shows that girls can do it on their own, without a man!! I really like that Anna grown a lot in Frozen 2. She found her way through with her inner strength. Thanks for sharing how you relate to this series!
Nancy ✨
So agree with you, Frozen sets a completely different “princess” prospective, a new way to see at girls power and value 🙂 ♥ xx

Oh thank you very very much 🙂 xx
I loved both movies and having two daughters these resonated with me. I did like the first one better than the second though.
xoxo,
Christine
I imagine these movies can resonate with a lot of us, being the firsts about sisters. I loved the first most before seeing the docuseries on Disney+: it changed completely may mind! xx
How fun! You dressed up so well to capture the essence of the movie! 🙂 I agree it’s a good movie – my kids love it, we watch it quite a lot, haha! They like singing along to the songs and laughing at Olaf 🙂
Hope that you had a nice weekend 🙂 It was a bit hot and humid here but we still managed to get out to the park 🙂
I’m just like your kids, singing and laughing every time I re-watch them lol Happy weekend you too! xx
I’ve never seen Frozen before but I like your version of it. I agree that you can love someone you are completely different to and you don’t always have to share the same opinions and goals. xo
I’m happy you dived into this post even not knowing the story, and I’m sure you’ll love both the movies if you decide to watch them 🙂 ♥ xx
What a beautiful connection to this film! I like the way you threaded in and out, this read like a braided essay because of it! x
I’m very glad you appreciate the written, it’s always the part I care the most ♥ xx
I love to see your cosplay and the story behind this one is so special.
You’re so good at photoshoot. The pictures are so beautiful !
You and your sister look so much like Anna and Elsa.
xx
Margot
Oh thank you very very much for your kind words, I’m so happy to know that someone took the time to read everything ♥ xx
Such a beautifully written post! I watched Frozen 1 with my daughter and now, I can’t wait to watch Frozen 2!
Julia x
You’ll love the second one, it’s even better in my opinion 🙂 xx
I love the story, I love the theme.
Thank you! xx
I totally get it. I also see a lot similarity with frozen about my relationship with my sis.
I guess there are so many sisters around the world feeling Frozen so close to them, there aren’t many stories with sisters and brothers first of all, and then they really create a unique way to dive into family problems as we all have them ♥ xx
You have written this post beautifully, so much respect for you!
xoxo Simone
Oh big thank to you ♥ xx
It’s so surreal. I love it. I love watching it.
Thank you so much! xx
🙂 xx
I watched Frozen with my daughter when she was younger (it was ALL the rage at the time) but I haven’t seen Frozen II because she’s no longer interested in the story and characters now she’s older. Which is a shame because from reading your post it seems like they go on a real arc of discovery. Thank you for sharing this post 🙂
Oh yes, the second one has a completely different approach, much more adult and deep, I’m sure you both will love it 🙂 xx
Your sister and yourself seem like a great support system to each other! A story of fear, instinct and great risk but ultimately leading to breakthrough.
Love the cosplay! You’re always so creative and that is so admirable!
Wishing you the best darling!
xxx
You chose perfectly every single word, thank you so much for the sweetness ♥ wish you the best too 🙂 xx
I can tell you put time and thought into this so I thank you for this!
It’s biuuuutiful that you have found similarities between the relationship you have with your sister and the Frozen sisters.
Wishing you a lovely week ahead, Xo
Thank you very very much for your comment and the time to dive into the article 🙂 have a lovely weekend ♥ xx
I love the images! Stunning! And both of these movies are fantastic!
Finally someone who saw them! I thought everyone had seen them, the takings were the highest, yet many still haven’t! xx
Your storytelling is incredible here. I’ve never seen either of the Frozen movies (I think the song being everywhere was enough for me at the time) but you’ve really made me want to. I’ll have to watch soon x
I’m so happy to read that many will watch the movie finally, they really stand up and are masterpieces, I so deeply feel the connection and I’m sure for many other too 🙂 xx
Thanks for sharing your love of Frozen. I need to see the second film!
Oh yes, it’s even better than the first one in my opinion 🙂 xx
Your cosplays are beautifully striking! I love the takeaways and powerful moments you excerpt from this story; that the princesses saved themselves in sisterhood was always my favorite part of the film, though the story also left room for honest love.
True, there is everything inside these stories and that’s why I love them so much ♥ xx
An easy and efficient way of editing. Your styling and photos are adorable. You made Frozen look very easy for everyone. Thank you so much.
Thanks to you for your kind words 🙂 xx
Wow! This turned out amazing!
