I haven’t felt much Christmas this year.
It seemed like a fleeting ray of sunshine, not even the time to warm me up. Totally understandable.
Indeed that ray has had time to light up some Christmas energy. I tried in every way to deceive myself with the little Christmas habits: cooking biscuits, watching movies all day, treating myself to desserts, playing and laughing a lot.

For me, Christmas is genuine joy (here), and the tradition of gifts is fundamental.
This year I have prepared and given two advent calendars and received as many, packed more gifts than usual, and discarded many packages. I’m really lucky to have so many people who want to see me happy.
Under the tree I also wrapped the gift I had bought to Mum in Amsterdam but I was unable to give her, a book with all the works of her favorite painter: Van Gogh.

Beyond consumerism and duty, giving is a strong emotion, more than receiving. It’s a way of loving.
To have a person in mind with the intention of surprising her, to excite her. And in receiving what is most moving is the awareness that someone has had us in his head with the intention of surprising us, excite us.
Could this be our attitude towards life: to surprise her. And in doing so, surprise ourselves. It would be a continuous filling of joy.

In unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning there is just this: the joy of having wanted to generate joy.
When I got to know about Desigual’s #GiftDifferent campaign, I couldn’t help but rejoice. Being able to be a testimonial of their concept of giving is an honor and allows me to interpret my own thoughts. Donate as a way to love.
In addition, I’ve always appreciated the quality and originality of this brand. It’s one of the few brands that has been able to dress up with its own defined identity, and its garments are always recognizable even without reading the name. Wherever I turn, I see Desigual colors and patterns. The absurdity is that they are never the same: there isn’t a single color, but all of them. It isn’t always the same design, but infinite variations. Yet, they respond to an integrity that allows you to identify a Desigual garment at a glance.

Quest’anno il Natale non l’ho sentito molto.
Mi è sembrato un raggio di sole fugace, neanche il tempo di scaldarmi. Del tutto comprensibile.
Invero quel raggio ha avuto il tempo di rischiarare qualche energia natalizia. Ho cercato in tutti i modi di raggirarmi con le piccole abitudini natalizie: cucinare biscotti, guardare film tutto il giorno, concedermi dolci fino alla nausea, giocare e ridere tanto.

Per me Natale è gioia genuina (qui), e la tradizione dei regali è fondamentale.
Quest’anno ho preparato e regalato due calendari d’avvento e ne ho ricevuti altrettanti, confezionato più doni del solito, e scartato tantissimi pacchetti. Sono davvero fortunata ad avere tante persone che desiderano vedermi felice.
Sotto l’albero ho incartato anche il regalo che avevo comprato a Mamma ad Amsterdam ma non sono riuscita a darle, un libro con tutte le opere del suo pittore preferito: Van Gogh.

Al di là del consumismo e del dovere, donare è un’emozione forte, più del ricevere. È un modo di amare.
Avere in testa una persona con l’intenzione di sorprenderla, emozionarla. E nel ricevere quanto più commuove è la consapevolezza che qualcuno ci abbia avuto in testa con l’intenzione di sorprenderci, emozionarci.
Fosse questo il nostro atteggiamento verso la vita: sorprenderla. E nel farlo sorprendere noi. Sarebbe un continuo colmarsi di gioia.

Nello scartare i regali la mattina di Natale c’è proprio questo: la gioia dell’aver voluto generare gioia.
Quando sono venuta a conoscenza della campagna #GiftDifferent di Desigual, non ho potuto che gioire. Poter essere testimone del loro concetto di donare è un onore e mi permette di interpretare un mio stesso pensiero. Donare come amare.
Inoltre ho sempre apprezzato la qualità e l’originalità di questo brand. È uno dei pochi marchi che è stato in grado di vestirsi di una propria definita identità, ed i suoi capi sono sempre riconoscibili anche senza che se ne legga il nome. Ovunque mi giri, vedo i colori e i motivi Desigual. L’assurdità è che non sono mai gli stessi: non c’è un unico colore, ma tutti. Non è sempre lo stesso disegno, ma infinite varianti. Eppure, rispondono ad una integrità che ti permette di identificare un capo Desigual a colpo d’occhio.
Ho scelto un foulard e ho regalato un doppiopetto (indossato solo per lo shooting). Avete dato uno sguardo al sito Desigual per un’idea regalo?
